USP- Event Agro-Energy, Sao Paulo (Brasil), 21-23 November 2011.

The University of São Paulo (USP) is organizing events in 10 areas of Science, to discuss relevant issues, with the purpose of putting our Researchers at the forefront of National and International Science.

We were appointed by the Dean of Research of the University of São Paulo as responsible for the "Area of Agricultural Sciences". It was decided that three events will be held on this subject, the first in 2011 and the other two in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

For the 2011 event, the Agro-Energy theme was chosen to be discussed during three days in the period 21-23 November, in São Paulo (USP's main campus), reserving the first day to 'Agro-energy and Crop Science', the second to 'Agro-energy and Food' and the third to 'Animal Waste and Energy Production'.

There will be a debate at the end of each session, and a document will be produced at the end of the event to assess the status of Brazilian science in the topic and which direction should be adopted to target the international competitiveness.
